Privacy Policy for SimpleScan
Overview
SimpleScan is designed to scan and process documents privately on your device.
Information We Collect
SimpleScan does not collect, transmit, sell, or share documents, recognized text, usage activity, device identifiers, analytics, advertising data, or personal information.
On-Device Processing
Document scanning, image enhancement, and text recognition use Apple frameworks and run on your device. SimpleScan does not operate a document-processing server and does not require an account.
Photos & Files
SimpleScan accesses a photo or file only after you select it with an Apple system picker. The selected content is copied into the app's protected local container. SimpleScan does not request unrestricted access to your photo library or files.
Storage & Deletion
Scanned documents remain on your device until you move them to Recently Deleted and delete them permanently. Deleting SimpleScan removes its local app container, subject to backup and restore behavior controlled by you and Apple.
Sharing
SimpleScan shares an exported document only when you choose a destination through the iOS share interface. The selected destination is responsible for its own privacy practices.
Permissions
Camera permission is used only for document scanning. Device authentication is optional and is used only when you enable App Lock.
Third-Party Services
SimpleScan does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Children's Privacy
SimpleScan does not knowingly collect data from children. Because the app collects no data, no child data is collected by SimpleScan.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the Effective Date on this page will be updated.
